Ofcom TPS registrations figure for May 2006
The telecoms regulator, Ofcom, has announced the latest figures for registrations to the telephone preference service (TPS).
Ofcom announced at the annual TPS forum in May 2006 that the TPS registrations had now grown to 12.4 million with a growth rate of 250,000 each month.
Colin Lloyd chairman of the TPS forecast that 16 million households would have registered by the end of 2006.
This growth is challenging the effectiveness of the outbound telephony channel and may see resources switched to online as a way off communication to potential customers.
